Reservations Booming at Bertha Park
10th July 2020
Springfield Properties, one of Scotland’s leading private and affordable housebuilders, saw a record week in reservations following the re-opening of its sales offices – particularly at the countryside development.
Bertha Park benefits from open green areas and a mix of 3, 4 and 5 bedroom spacious homes, all of which are complete with a private, turfed garden. These features have become increasingly popular with prospective homebuyers in the wake of the country-wide lockdown.
Recent research into the property market suggests that aspirations are shifting, with larger homes, a garden and spare rooms, which could double as a home office, becoming much more appealing. Of those surveyed by Rightmove, 63% said a bigger garden or access to one, was their top consideration when purchasing a house. And as the Scottish Government have increased the Land and Buildings Transaction Tax threshold, there’s even more reason to buy. Now home buyers will not pay any LBTT, formally known as stamp duty, on homes up to £250,000 with those purchasing homes above that price also set to benefit from a knock-on reduction.
Bertha Park is located on the outskirts of Perth, surrounded by Scottish countryside. The impressive village development was specifically designed to provide the Bertha Park community with everything it needs to thrive. As well as a range of shops, the designs include restaurants, a medical centre and other business opportunities. The development is also home to the first purpose-built high school in Scotland for over two decades, Bertha Park High School, which welcomed its first pupils last August.
A range of stylish, family homes are available to purchase on the site, including the four-bedroom detached Crail. Available to move into now, the 1432 sq.ft home is laid out across two floors and features a built-in garage. The spacious open-planned kitchen dining area can be adapted as desired, allowing homeowners to create anything from a play area to a dedicated study. Upstairs, buyers will find four stunning bedrooms, all of which benefit from large windows and built in wardrobes.
There’s also plenty of options for those looking to buy their first home at Bertha Park with all homes available with the First Home Fund – like the Cupar house style. For £219,000 the three bedroom semi-detached home features a large lounge at the front of the home and open plan kitchen dining at the back of the home which leads into a fully turfed manicured back garden through French doors.
Springfield Properties Central Managing Director, Peter Matthews, said: “We have seen a record number of reservations across our development portfolio since Covid-19 lockdown began to ease, and Bertha Park was particularly popular with many buyers reserving last week.
“Since re-opening and speaking with potential customers, it is clear that attitudes are shifting. People want more space within their home and greater access to parks or green space. There is also an increased demand for homes with a garden.
“Bertha Park offers everything buyers are looking for. The development has been specifically designed to capture the feel of countryside living, while still being connected to all major towns along the central belt through the A90.”
